Aberdeen City Council has been officially certified with the Carbon Trust Standard after taking action to combat climate change.
To achieve the Standard the council undertook a carbon footprint calculation by analysing carbon emissions from 2007 and 2009. During this time it has continued to measure, manage and reduce its emissions. In the past three years the council has cut its carbon footprint by 4.6%.
