Carbon Voyage is a new travel start up that aims to help firms reduce and offset their business journey carbon emissions.
Carbon Voyage will provide companies with the opportunity to book taxis, private hire cars and trains through one online service that will then decide the greenest way for the customer to complete their planned journey. The service will automatically pick a train journey over a car in an attempt to minimize emissions.
As well as choosing the most efficient journey Carbon Voyage will use Planet Positive, an off set provider, to off set any CO2 emissions that result from the journey.
The service will record the CO2 emissions generated on the journey and provide a cost for those emissions to the company or customer who is traveling
James Swanston, the companys chief executive said that partnerships had been set up with the Gatwick and Heathrow Express and that they already had 5,000 cars, a number of which are hybrid, throughout the London area.
