The manufacturer intends to make a series of green improvements to all its phones.
Sony Ericsson has unveiled two green handsets with carbon footprints that are 15% lower than current models.

The two phones, the C901 GreenHeart (pictured, near right) and the Naite (pictured, far right), will form part of a revised portfolio of environmentally friendly phones to be rolled out over the next two years.

The manufacturer said it has cut packaging, used recycled plastics and reduced the use of solvents found in paint to ensure the handsets are more eco-friendly.

The plans fall under Sony Ericssons wider strategy to cut 20% of its carbon emissions by 2015. It aims to make a series of green improvements to all its phones by 2011.

The new C901 will be released later this month and the Naite will launch in September.
