San Jose, CA, May 17, 2010- Green leader Papros Inc. today announced that its customers will be able to track supply chain carbon footprints by using social media tools, most notably Twitter. Papros Inc. has been the prime mover in the carbon accounting industry as far as getting beyond the typical Scope 1, Scope 2 carbon emissions and employee commute and business travel in Scope 3 to the carbon associated with upstream and downstream processes in the supply chain. The first large scale deployment in the electronics industry for obtaining supplier carbon footprints and rolling them up was at the electronic manufacturer Adaptec Inc. in the Fall of 2009, using MRPRO from Papros Inc.. This deployment revealed the complex nature of obtaining carbon footprints from upstream processes. In response to the discovered challenges, Papros Inc. now offers methods for parlaying the power of social media.
