From recycling to water conservation to reducing landfill waste, Delta Air Lines Inc. has launched an aggressive, multifaceted effort designed to reduce the companys carbon footprint.
Establishing an Environmental Department in 1988, the Atlanta-based airlines eco-friendly efforts have cut down water usage by 50 percent at its Atlanta maintenance facilities and kept about 84,400 pounds of aircraft carpet and 738 tons of recyclables from being dumped into Atlanta-area landfills.
