HELIJET FLIGHTS TO BE CARBON-NEUTRAL

| Sourced From |

HELIJET AIRWAYS HAS SIGNED ON TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE “PACIFIC CARBON TRUST”…A PROVINCIAL CROWN CORPORATION CREATED TO OFFER PROGRAMS THAT OFFSET GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS.

HELIJET PRESIDENT DANNY SITNAM SAYS A CALCULATION OF THE COMPANY’S EMISSIONS REQUIRES A CONTRIBUTION OF A DOLLAR-37 PER PASSENGER IN OFFSETS IN ORDER THAT FLIGHTS BE ENTIRELY “CARBON-NEUTRAL”.

FOR THE MOMENT AT LEAST, THAT AMOUNT WILL NOT BE PASSED ON TO CONSUMERS…

“No there won’t be any additional charges at this time. We’re just offsetting that fare by a dollar-37 so there won’t be any increase in fares”

HELIJET IS NORTH AMERICA’S LARGEST SCHEDULED HELICOPTER SERVICE, WITH SEVERAL FLIGHTS DAILY BETWEEN VICTORIA AND THE LOWER MAINLAND.
