Carbon and waste covered at Copenhagen


The International Solid Waste Associations White Paper on Waste & Climate Change, released ahead of the December UN climate summit in Copenhagen, claims developed countries can achieve net emission savings of 20% through investments in waste management. The Bureau of International Recycling (BIR) also went to Copenhagen armed with an Imperial College London study showing recycling delivers annual CO2 savings equivalent to the carbon footprint of the global aviation industry.
