April 9 (Bloomberg) — Canada will probably start a system for trading greenhouse-gas credits in 2012, Point Carbon reported, citing Carbon Capital Management Chief Executive Officer Errick Willis.
The nation will start a related domestic offset program by next year, the Oslo-based research firm and news service said yesterday on its Web site.
Willis said at a conference in Washington yesterday the U.S. isnt interested in joining a program with Canada and prefers instead to concentrate on its own system, according to the report.
