Green does not meaning seeing red says Carbon Planet

While debates continue to rage about the Rudd Government’s CPRS and what form it will take and what it will cost, Australia’s leading carbon management firm wants to remind the business community that effective carbon management can actually improve a company’s bottom line.

“Identifying the potential carbon impact on your business and taking measures to address it are the keys to not only survival but prosperity,” Carbon Planet Director, Ian Ross said.

“Product or service differentiation, stronger relationships with government, corporations and the community, reduced costs, staff retention and increased market share are just some of the benefits businesses can enjoy by addressing climate change.”

Carbon Planet has found that lower operating costs through energy minimisation strategies is a real and immediate benefit many businesses can enjoy when they start their green journey.

Now more than ever Australian businesses need to understand that going green is good for business – green does not always have to be a cost.

“We are encouraging businesses to undertake a greenhouse gas assessment and then to identify what profitable strategies are available to reduce the carbon impact,” Ian Ross said.

“The cost of doing nothing will be far greater than implementing an effective carbon strategy. The Carbon Economy is real and it is coming,” concluded Ian Ross.

Established in 2000, Carbon Planet has measured over 1,000,000 tonnes of emissions in Australia, conducted over 250 emission assessments and was Australia’s first carbon management firm to be certified ‘Greenhouse Friendly’ by the Australian Government’s Department of Climate Change.
