The carbon neutral scheme of Carfax now penetrates the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, as the company will offset CO2 emissions resulting from its sponsored Ford car taking part in the 3M Performance Race in Michigan. Moreover, the company is the title sponsor of the CARFAX 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series and all direct and indirect emissions from this entire race will be offset through a donation to The Conservation Fund.
In 2007, the company offset over 4,200 tons of emissions from NASCAR Busch Series CARFAX 250, which became the first race ever to have net zero emissions. For this year, the company has joined hands with the Michigan International Speedway and The Conservation Fund to execute its offsetting plans and to lead an example for future races.
“With the support of our partners, we’re expanding our efforts beyond the CARFAX 250 and into the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series to continue that success,” stated Larry Gamache of Carfax.
