New Lightweight Paint to Reduce Carbon Footprint of Airline Industry


In what may be a solution to airlines concerns over EU ETS, Scottish scientists have found a method that would decrease the carbon footprint of aircrafts by using lighter paints. This paint is being developed by , which has joined hands with a Swedish company .

It has been calculated that the hi-tech coating has the capability to by almost 50,000 kg per annum. To make this hi-tech coating, scientists are employing microsphere technology, which lessens the mass of several colors by up to 75%.
