- the largest nuclear power company in the United States by 2020. the company will "reduce, offset or displace more than 15 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions per year by 2020". That amounts to a reduction greater than Exelon’s total emissions in 2008.
Exelon plans to attain this target by relying primarily on conservation and increasing productivity of existing power plants. The company will work towards making its operations more energy efficient, reducing energy consumption of its customers and switching to low carbon generators. Though to a much lesser extent, Exelon will also depend on renewable sources such as wind and solar energy.
