Cheap annual travel insurance customers who are concerned about their carbon footprint may be interested in the latest statement from the Air Transport Action Group.
The body suggested the UK government should help the aviation industry reduce its emissions by investing in air traffic management systems.
Executive director Paul Steele explained there is a need for an injection of cash to help with the upgrading of such technology, which would allow air travel operators to work more efficiently.
He explained companies were doing their part to reduce their environmental impact, but suggested they could benefit from some assistance.
“We are replacing old aircraft with newer aircraft and there are aircrafts like the Airbus A380 and the Boeing 787 [that] have significant fuel efficiency improvement over the aircraft they are replacing,” Mr Steele stated.
His comments come after the Committee on Climate Change suggested aviation emissions should be capped in the UK to help tackle climate change.
