New funding announced to develop energy efficiencies and cost savings
The Carbon Trust is offering aggregates industry partners funding of up to £250,000 in a collaborative programme of research, development and demonstration that will accelerate uptake of new low carbon technologies, it was announced today. As part of its Industrial Energy Efficiency Accelerator (IEEA), the Carbon Trust has worked with key players in the sector to analyse the potential for new technologies and processes that will reduce energy use, save costs and cut carbon emissions. The Scottish Government has proposed converting all public sector vehicles to low carbon by 2020.
The plans are included in a consultation announced this week to widen the use of low-carbon vehicles in Scotland, as part of transport’s contribution to reduce emissions.
