Carbonetworks Closes Solid Q1 with Key Customer Wins

| Sourced From |

Victoria, BC – April 21, 2009 – Carbonetworks , a leading carbon management solution provider, today announced a solid close to the first quarter 2009 with significant customer wins in addition to the company’s international expansion with new offices and executive team expansion. Through a competitive bid process both Becker Underwood, one of the world’s leading Bio-Agronomic companies and Omnibuild LLC, a full-service energy and construction management company, selected Carbonetworks’ on-demand software platform to provide comprehensive carbon management solutions.

The addition of Becker Underwood and Omnibuild LLC to Carbonetworks’ global client list marks not only a strong Q1 for the company, but also signals the growing trend that businesses understand the importance of developing a carbon management emissions strategy.

“Across all industries carbon management is now a critical component of running a successful business,” said Michael Meehan, CEO of Carbonetworks. “In recent months government policies in the US, UK, Canada and other industrial powers are being introduced that will require companies to better manage, report and reduce GHG emissions. We are excited that Becker Underwood and Omnibuild, two forward-looking organizations that understand the role of carbon in their business, selected Carbonetworks to manage their carbon portfolios and help them identify reduction options through our global network of leading technologies, verifiers, consultants and other services providers.”
Carbon Management for Global Enterprise

Becker Underwood, a global producer of specialty bio-agronomic products and colorants for agriculture and other industries, chose Carbonetworks to help accurately capture and measure the company’s current carbon and energy reduction projects. With operations in Australia, Canada, France, the UK, Brazil, Argentina and the US, Becker Underwood faces the challenge of capturing and measuring carbon and energy globally. The company will use the Carbonetworks management platform as a single platform for all carbon data and reporting, while utilizing the network to create a strong foundation for future projects.

“As a company serving the agricultural and horticultural sectors, we are committed to sustainability and sensitivity to the environment. We were looking for a scalable way to accurately capture and measure all our energy and emissions reduction activities to ensure compliance with any change in statutory regulations, manage carbon at an enterprise level and participate in the global carbon network,” said Daniel Krohn, Energy & Carbon Specialist at Becker Underwood. “The Carbonetworks network offering was very attractive because it will enable us to streamline our data collection and to connect with partners and key stakeholders involved in the development of a number of current collaborative initiatives.”
