Robert Wiseman Dairies says it can reduce its CO2 emissions by 7% a year by adopting satellite vehicle technology from Isotrak.
The milk processing company, which has just finished installing Isotrak’s Active Transport Management System (ATMS) across its 900-vehicle fleet of vans, rigids, artics, refrigerated trailers and tankers, says the move will help it save 5,000 tonnes of CO2 per annum.
Kirsty Cooper, logistics manager at Robert Wiseman Dairies, says the company is also looking to optimise its delivery times, measure driver breaks better and improve use of resources generally.
She adds: “We bought [Isotrak's ATMS] on the basis of an objective business case and are already reaping the benefits.”
Craig Sears-Black, Isotrak sales and marketing director, says: “Robert Wiseman has already saved much more fuel than we expected, and still have huge scope to achieve further cost and carbon savings.”
Cooper would not reveal the value of the investment with Isotrack.
