BMW aims to reduce its EU fleet-average emissions by 25% or more by 2020. This would follow a previous 25% cut in the OEM’s EU fleet-average emissions between 1995 and 2008. The new target was announced at the BMW Group sustainability summit in Berlin by Harald Krüger, member of the board of management of BMW. To meet the new target, Krüger said the company would need technologies such as zero-emission electric drive.
