As firms worldwide struggle to control their emissions from air travel to stand-by computers, meeting venues anticipate and experience problems for their businesses unless they focus on reducing emissions. However, cutting carbon emissions from meetings is a tough task without renovating buildings to include low-carbon technologies. Thats where Synanto saw a good business opportunity and jumped in with its MeetingPod, which aims to makes meetings more eco-friendly primarily by making them paper-free.
Dave Wickett of Synanto says a typical 10-person meeting results in emissions equaling 1.6 kg of CO2. By using the MeetingPod, a similar meeting of 10 can be held with a footprint of just 0.2 kg of CO2.
