Greenpeace report highlights CO2 emissions of Chinese power firms

CHINAS THREE largest power firms produced more greenhouse gas emissions last year than Britain, according to a Greenpeace report released yesterday.

While Chinas emissions per head remain far below those of developed countries, as a whole it has surpassed the US to become the worlds largest emitter.

Greenpeace said the top 10 companies, which provided almost 60 per cent of Chinas total electricity last year, burned 20 per cent of Chinas coal
