Delhi, India - Significantly more of India’s leading companies have signed up to voluntarily disclose carbon emissions and climate policies, a second round of reporting has shown.
The quality of reporting is up as well as the quantity, project sponsor WWF-India noted at the release of the India Carbon Disclosure Project Report 2008. (CDP-India 2008)

New Delhi : “We welcome this initiative (Carbon Disclosure Project) as it aims to inform and educate companies about the urgency to mainstream climate change related issues in their work,” said Mr Shyam Saran - the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy on Climate Change - speaking at the release of the second report of the India Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) 2008. “The National Action Plan on Climate Change released by the Government aims to work on the entire gamut of such issues through its well defined eight National Missions,” he added.

PUNE: State minister for forests Babanrao Pachpute distributed Rs 55 lakh as carbon credit (CC) funds to 24 Indian project promoters for commercializing their carbon credits for a period from January to December 2007.
Pachpute presented the funds at a city hotel on Saturday during the ‘Carbon Credit Fund Distribution Ceremony’ organized by MITCON Consultancy Services Limited, a firm dealing with energy auditing in industrial sectors.
