Synanto’s MeetingPod Reduces CO2 Emissions from Meetings by 85%

As firms worldwide struggle to control their emissions from air travel to stand-by computers, meeting venues anticipate and experience problems for their businesses unless they focus on reducing emissions. However, cutting carbon emissions from meetings is a tough task without renovating buildings to include low-carbon technologies. That’s where Synanto saw a good business opportunity and jumped in with its MeetingPod, which aims to makes meetings more eco-friendly primarily by making them paper-free.

Dave Wickett of Synanto says a typical 10-person meeting results in emissions equaling 1.6 kg of CO2. By using the MeetingPod, a similar meeting of 10 can be held with a footprint of just 0.2 kg of CO2.

“The MeetingPod is a paperless, electronic meeting system, which … holds all the meeting information that each attendee can view on their separate ‘MeetingPod’. This means that they do not have to print agendas, minutes from the last meeting, or any other information relevant to that meeting,” said Mr. Wickett.
