While many of us may think of cutting our carbon footprint during the course of our lives, Colorado Springs officials are thinking way beyond that. The Colorado Spring Gazette reports officials are considering ways to make our funeral and graveyard-life eco-friendly. The idea came while the local government was reviewing city-wide cemeteries for improvement.

In an attempt to cut footprints of the ‘dead’, plans are underway to use bags and boxes for burials. In addition to reducing CO2 emissions that would otherwise result from the manufacture of coffins, such funerals would also save lots of trees and $$$ too!
Rest In Peace, humans and trees.
